Casper, Wyoming
After Fort Laramie, the trail turned northward, following the Platte River as immigrants and the Pony Express continued on. Casper, Wyoming, (known then as Platte Bridge Station) anchored this part of the trail. Today, Casper celebrates its role as a crossroads with the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. The Center features displays and interactive exhibits from the various trails that passed through here, including the Pony Express, Oregon, California, and Mormon trails.
